We are now meeting weekly at Bowie Elementary. We are so excited about the opportunities that this transition provides during our remodel. You can be praying for our church during this time, for the students and teachers of Bowie, and ultimately that God would be glorified!
Check out this note that our pastor Matt wrote to guide us through this transition.

Change can be difficult. As we prepare to meet offsite for the next season of ministry here at Ridgecrest I wanted to remind us of a few things.

Our focus has not shifted and our call to be effective witnesses for the Gospel is not impacted by the location of our services. Starting Sunday, July 16 we will meet at Bowie Elementary School and will do so for the duration of our remodel, which at this time we anticipate will take around nine and a half months.

As we have considered how best to support our ongoing ministries we have had to make some difficult decisions and offer some creative solutions. Our Celebrate Recovery ministry had their final gathering at Ridgecrest this past Monday evening. During our remodel they will gather weekly at Christ Community Church.

Our first two weeks at Bowie, Sundays the 16th and 23rd, we will not have adult Sunday school. We will instead have a time of orientation and prayer as we become acclimated to our temporary space. Our other Sunday morning activities such as youth, children and nursery will meet as usual.

The remaining time we are at Bowie we are going to have a wonderful opportunity to grow together as God continues to refine us and work in our midst. To this end we are going to utilize the many gifts of our members to help us be faithful during this time. One facet of this is our adult Sunday School time. For adult Sunday school we are going to gather together for a time of focused discipleship as we explore a variety of topics and assorted spiritual disciplines. For those who are more comfortable in a traditional Sunday School setting we are also going to have this as an available offering.

Wednesday nights have been a vital part of or discipleship model and will continue to be so during our time at Bowie. During our Summer time transition, however, we are going to transition to a greater focus on families spending time together and will have no on-site scheduled activities on Wednesday nights for adults or children. We will resume regular Wednesday night activities August 30th as we kick off another year of discipleship opportunities. Due to space and time constraints in shared space, we will be unable to have our Wednesday night fellowship meal.

How can you help? We have needs in the areas of set-up, tear-down, greeting, parking, follow-up and a variety of other ministries. If you would like to use this new season to either find a new area of service or perhaps to begin to serve for the first time we will find an area matched to your desires and giftedness. Feel free to reach out via email or over the phone.
